DR. ALIM AKHTAR BHUIYAN

• Dr. Alim Akthar Bhuiyan is the only American Board Certified Neurologist and Epilepsy Specialist in the country. He graduated from Chattogram Medical College in 1988. Later, he obtained his Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTM&H) from London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. • Dr. Bhuiyan has done post-graduate residency training in Internal Medicine from Queens Hospital Center (affiliated with Mount Sinai Hospital) under the City University of New York, USA • He did post-graduate residency training in Neurology & Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Epilepsy and Clinical Neuro - Physiology from the State University of New York, Syracuse, USA. There, he was awarded Departmental Resident Teaching Award for Excellence in Medical Students’ teaching for two consecutive (1997 & 1998) years • He obtained coveted Board Certification in Neurology from American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology • He has worked as a Consultant Neurologist at Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital in Syracuse, New York, USA • He was Associate Professor & Head of the Department of Neurology at Bangladesh Medical College from 1999 to 2005 • Prior to joining Continental Hospital as Full Time Senior Consultant, he was serving as Senior Consultant, Neurology in Evercare Hospital (former Apollo Hospitals Dhaka) since 2005 • He has to his credit multiple national and international publications in Neurology
