
Dr. Abu Mohammad Sayem is a Consultant Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgeon with 19 years of experience in fractures and trauma management, hand surgery, and reconstructive surgery of the bones and joints. He completed his MBBS from the University of Science & Technology Chittagong and his D.Orth from Chittagong Medical College, University of Chittagong. His surgical expertise spans trauma surgery — including open reduction and internal fixation of fractures, Minimally Invasive Plate Osteosynthesis (MIPO), acetabular fixation, and deformity correction with limb reconstruction systems — alongside spine surgery (open and microdiscectomy), total hip and knee arthroplasty, and hand surgery (tendon and nerve repair, carpal tunnel release, Dupuytren's contracture release). He also has expertise in paediatric orthopaedic surgery. Dr. Sayem has long experience in managing Osteoporosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Gout, Ankylosing Spondylitis etc. Dr. Sayem has built his career across leading hospitals in Bangladesh, progressing from Registrar at Apollo Hospital Dhaka to Specialist, Associate Consultant, and Consultant roles at institutions including Evercare Hospital Dhaka, Apollo Imperial Hospital Chattogram, KPJ Hospital Gazipur, and currently Z.H. Shikder Women's Medical College & Hospital. He has pursued continuous professional development through international courses including the AO-Recon Course on Hip & Knee Replacement, ISAKOS Knee Course, and AO Trauma courses on operative fracture management and polytrauma care, and also guides junior team members in the management of critical and emergency cases.
