About Doctor

He has passed the FRCS Examination in June 1996. Since then he worked in neurosurgery for National Health services of UK at Western General Hospital, Edinburgh; Radcliff infirmary, University of Oxford and Walsgrave Hospital, University of Warwick, UK. In 2003, He returned to Bangladesh to join Apollo Hospital, Dhaka as Consultant Neurosurgeon. In 2007, He Joined United Hospital, Dhaka as Consultant Neurosurgery and Director, Neuro Centre. During his service in UK (Approximately 12 years) he successfully completed different training courses in Edinburgh and Oxford. Among these GDC Training course for coiling of cerebral aneurysm organized by University of Oxford is remarkable. His special interest is in Treatment of subarachnoid haemorrhage (Clipping of cerebral aneurysm). Extensive involvement in this type of treatment lead to research paper presented in the society of British Neurological Surgeons meeting in 2003 and subsequently published in journal of European neurosurgical congress. He has developed modelled new technique for the treatment of cervical spinal degenerative disease. Tremendous work and research in this subject rewarded by presentation and publication of paper ‘’Plate and screw fixation together with anterior cervical discectomy and fusion at two or more levels ? Is it necessary, published and presented in cervical spine research society, Europe, May 2016. Major clinical research work and paper published “Anterior cervical decompression and fusion without fixation” at National Scientific conference, Bangladesh society of Neurosurgeons, April – 2017. Another clinical research paper on surgical treatment of complex spinal tumor as well as surgical treatment and outcome of intracerebral hematoma presented and published in “Global congress on Neurology & Neuroscience” held during July 17-18, 2019 at Kualalampur, Malaysia. His other remarkable achievement includes treatment of Brain, Spine and Pituitary tumours; different types of spinal diseases like osteoporotic fracture of spine and Decompression and fixation of spinal fracture. Surgical treatment for Trigeminal neuralgia, Hemifacial Spasm and Congenital deformity of skull bone and other rare diseases get his special attention and the results are excellent. The result of most of these works are in the process of evaluation and publication. He has developed minimal invasive and image guided neurosurgery in Bangladesh with the aid of Stealth Navigation System. He is very efficient in treating the severe head and spinal injuries.
