• Obtained MBBS from Rajshahi Medical College in 1984 and MD from National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases under University of Dhaka in 1992
• Completed fellowship in Interventional Cardiology from National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (Dhaka, Bangladesh), Hospital Charles Nicolle (Rouen, France), Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University (Bangkok, Thailand) and Medical College of Georgia (Augusta, Georgia, USA) between 1998 to 2001
• Completed PhD from University of Dhaka in a collaboration with Alabama Medical Center, Birmingham, USA in 2004

Experience

• Director and Professor, National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases
• Professor and Head, Department of Cardiology, Sir Salimullah Medical College (2009-2012)
• Assistant Professor, National Center for Control of Rheumatic Fever
• Well-recognized as an Interventional Cardiologist with passion for innovation, adaptation of new techniques and dissemination of new knowledge in the field of Coronary intervention, Primary PCI, Zero contrast angioplasty etc.
• He is a Chairman and Course Director of Bangladesh Interventional Therapeutics (BIT), Governor, American College of Cardiology (ACC), Bangladesh Chapter and Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Invasive and Clinical Cardiology
